That one moment

We spend all our lives trying to figure out what we want...and the more we try...the less we know what it is. Now thats irony.

Again the credit goes to my friend Abhijit...who always seems to place seeds of poignant thought in my otherwise under-utilized brain. I asked his permission before stating his name and he said...sure...he wants to be famous. Well ok, he didn't really say that...but I know that has something to do with. I seem to be digressing. The point I was trying to make is that we spend our childhood in utmost bliss, believing that everything revolves around us and everyone is basically around to do our bidding. Its a good enough feeling and makes you feel pretty damn important. Then we come to adolescence where each person goes through his/her own version of an identity crisis. Once that's resolved, we arrive at adulthood. We spend our ENTIRE adult life stressing about what we really want and whether we're doing anything to get it. But its true that the more we think about it, the further we are from coming to a conclusion. The thing is...you can't intellectualize what you want out of life. Its a feeling, not a rational thought. Yes, when you feel strongly enough about it, and know it in your gut, then you can 'think' about what you're going to do to get what you want. And thats when you can start planning and stressing. No point tearing your hair out in frustration because you're just not being able to figure out what you want. It'll come to you...just give it time...and DON'T obsess about it.

There's a fab line from a recent movie that says that when you really really want something, the whole universe will change its ways to give it to you. I guess that applies here too. Once you know in your heart that something is right for you, AND you do something to get it, the universe will walk by your side. and then you'll achieve that one moment you were born for.
