Have anyone of you ever lived in one city for ten years and then suddenly had to leave...against your wishes? Because of something as silly as poor health? Well I did. And let me tell you, until you've been there, you cannot even imagine what its like. Its not only about leaving a city, its about leaving your home, your friends, your life, your own space, your own routine, your own air, your own rules, your own work, and pretty much everything that was yours. You then go back to the place you grew up, your hometown, and its a complete change. Suddenly you're back to living with parents, following rules that aren't set by you, trying to stick to a routine that is completely and drastically new, and basically attempting to get back to being healthy.
But the nursing of health is I think more physical than mental. I know, I've been there. Suddenly everything's different and you find that you have more time than ever to just think. And when you do, every single memory of your previous years comes rushing into your head at the drop of a hat. You yearn to be back where you came from, you pine for your old life. This goes on for a long time until suddenly, you have blinding clarity.
This clarity comes in small spurts, and might not be obvious to the world, but its pretty clear to you. And then you realize that the change that was imposed upon you so unfairly was actually for a reason. There were things you had to work out in your head, things you had to accept, and move on from. The most important being that the life you were living was probably not the life that was going to keep you happy in the long run. And though you can;t imagine why it had to be so hard for you to realize this, it had to be this way. Because you would have never chosen to leave and make a change on your own.
Anyway...my point is that sometimes the last thing you want might be the one thing thats necessary for you to gain perspective. I hope I'm right. It takes a long time to realize these things but when you do, it helps to have patience. So the next time you feel like something sucks, just wait it out...it might be worth it.
